We built PinaLuna because the biggest dating platforms in the world have stopped trying. Fake profiles. Inactive accounts. Empty promises. We thought we could do better. So we did.
The problem with dating platforms today
Most dating platforms were built to maximise subscription revenue — not to help people actually connect. The result is platforms full of profiles that haven't logged in for months, photos that don't match the person, and men sending messages into a void.
Women get bombarded with low-effort messages from accounts that may not even be real. Men pay month after month for an experience that rarely delivers what it promises.

How we built it differently
Every member on PinaLuna passes a live camera check powered by AWS Face Liveness technology. This confirms they are a real person in real time — not a photo, not a video, not an AI. Their face is then compared against their profile photo to confirm they are who they say they are.
The result: every verified badge on PinaLuna means something.
On PinaLuna, women never pay. Not to join, not to message, not for any feature on the platform. This is a permanent commitment — not a promotional offer.
When women have nothing to lose by joining and everything to gain, the quality of the community improves for everyone.
PinaLuna pays women a commission when they refer men who upgrade to Premium. Every time that man renews his subscription — she earns again.
This creates a community of women who are genuinely invested in the platform's success. When they recommend PinaLuna to a man it is because they believe in it — not because they were advertised at.
Every report is reviewed by a real person. Three reports trigger an immediate alert. Five reports result in automatic suspension pending review. Blocked users cannot message, view profiles or send likes.
We take the safety of our community seriously because without it nothing else we have built matters.

A western man subscribing to PinaLuna at £12.99 per month is spending a small fraction of his average monthly income. For a filipino woman, the commission from a single referral can represent meaningful additional income relative to the average filipino salary of ₱22,000 per month.
We designed PinaLuna with full awareness of the income difference between western countries and Southeast Asia — and chose to use that difference to create opportunity, not extract from it.
Men meet genuine women in a safe and verified environment. Women earn real income from social networks they already have. The platform grows when both sides genuinely benefit.
